Mycoplasma genitalium (MG) is a sexually transmitted infection that is often asymptomatic. MG can infect the cervix (neck of the womb) and the central tube of the penis (urethra) in men and sometimes the urethra in women and the throat and anus in both men and women. It is easily diagnosed and treated but should be followed up as it can have serious health consequences.
