We are inviting female students
(17-21 years old) attending the University
of Melbourne to take part in this research project.
This research aims to understand
how
common a genital infection called
bacterial vaginosis (BV) is in young
Australian women, and how it may be related to different types of sexual activity or factors such as contraceptive use.
We hope this research will lead to improvements in our management of this common genital infection. The following sections discuss the purpose of this research and what participation in this project involves.
