Melbourne Sexual Health Centre is Victoria’s largest clinic for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) such as genital herpes, chlamydia, genital warts, gonorrhea and HIV/AIDS.

Seek help early
Because of awkwardness and embarrassment, many people are reluctant to seek help for Sexually Transmissible Infections.  Yet, by delaying help, you may be placing yourself and your sexual partner(s) at risk of some of the serious complications of these infections.  Two of the more common complications include infertility and an increased risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS.

So, if you have any troubling symptoms in your genital area or have had sex without a condom, or are otherwise worried about a sexual contact, seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Your GP will also be able to provide testing and treatment for all STIs.

Remember, the sooner you get treated, the better it will be for your own health and that of your sexual partner(s).
