MEDICARE

Bring your Medicare card if you have one.

If you do not have a Medicare card, you can still get free sexual health care.

HOW LONG

Allow at least 2 hours for your visit.

WHEN

Come in early in the day. See our opening hours.

If you come in late in the day, we may not be able to see you.

WHAT WE DO

Sexual health testing and treatment.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

Provide contraception only, insert Implanon or IUDs.

See a GP or Family Planning Victoria for these services.

Appointments are limited and all appointments bookings must be discussed with a nurse. Call 93416200, Option 2.

  • WednesdayTest and Go express screening for gay and other men who have sex with men (Medicare only)
  • Alternate Mondays sexual health screening for gay and other men who have sex with men (not restricted to Medicare)
  • Thursday Evening Clinic – appointment only for all client groups

At MSHC, we focus on the following target groups:

  • People with symptoms of a possible sexually transmissible infection
  • People who are at risk of sexually transmissible infections

  • Call 93416200 to speak with a staff member who can tell you if Melbourne Sexual Health Centre is the best service to meet your needs.

Have you considered a GP?

Your GP/ local doctor can also do screening/ testing for sexually transmissible infections (STIs). Search for a doctor in your area. See www.checkyourrisk.org.au to help you decide which tests you might need to check for STIs if you do not have symptoms.
