VSHN launches two new GP partner clinics
Two New GP Partners Strengthen Access to Sexual Health Care in Victoria
Access to inclusive, high-quality sexual health care continues to expand, with Young Street Medical and Dental Centre and Peninsula Medical and Dental Clinic officially joining the Victorian Sexual Health Network (VSHN) this week, supported by Melbourne Sexual Health Centre (MSHC).
The expansion brings specialist-backed sexual health services closer to the community, allowing patients to access testing, treatment, PrEP, and ongoing care through their local GP.
Insights from Young Street Medical and Dental Centre highlight the impact of the model, with strong early demand and positive patient response.
“We’re genuinely excited about this partnership. It feels like a natural extension of who we already are as a practice,” said Dr Brandon Yeo, GP champion at Young Street.
“Being part of a coordinated network means we can deliver evidence-based care with the backing of specialist expertise, which gives our team and patients real confidence.”
The VSHN model addresses common barriers to care, including long wait times and the need to travel to specialist clinics, by embedding services within trusted general practice settings.
“We’re already seeing patients who had delayed care now coming forward because access is easier and the environment feels familiar and welcoming,” Dr Yeo added.
Affiliation with MSHC ensures both clinics are supported by leading clinical expertise and clear referral pathways for more complex care.
The addition of these two GP partners marks another step in building a more accessible, equitable sexual health system across Victoria—ensuring more people can receive timely care, closer to home.
