What we do

From May 10th 2022 sex workers are no longer mandated by Victorian law to undertake HIV and STI testing every three months.

Nevertheless, MSHC welcomes sex workers who would like to attend for sexual health screening. If you would like to be screened and have no symptoms please follow the process below.

Your responsibilities

If you have genital symptoms, you should stop sex work and see your health provider about treatment options. You can return to work when you have been treated and have no genital symptoms.

If you have a positive result

If any of your test results are positive, we will contact you right away and let you know.

If you have a positive test result, you should stop sex work until you have been treated.

You can come back to the Centre for treatment. When you come in for treatment, talk to your doctor or nurse about when you can return to work. Most of the time, you can return to work 7 days after you have been treated.
